John -

Why is our focus on rural areas? Well, when you think of rural places,
you probably think about farming, rolling hills of wheat or perhaps wide
expanses of grazing acreage.

And while there is a lot of farmland, there is also a gap in access to
essential needs for people in the middle of those farms. There are
stretches of land without cell service or internet capability. There are
places with limited healthcare centers. There are areas without reliable
and healthy food access known as "food deserts."

These areas that GIVE so much of their time, energy, and resources are a
foundational pillar of our nation. But their voices and their votes
often get skewed, with no help from limited access to transparent media
and information.

They deserve the chance to know the truth about the policies that affect
them and know that there are people from all over the country that want
their needs to be met. They deserve accurate representation and leaders
that will fight for them on the national and local levels.

We plan to make that happen. With our organizing infrastructure and the
ROCC model, we actively support local groups to make sure that voices
don't go unheard. After all, the farmers feed us! They deserve to be
able to afford their best rural life and their health care too!
