Why did it take so long to get regulations? Politicians.
That’s right: With the support of the billion dollar electric scooter industry, Assemblymember Todd Gloria authored the law that stops cities from enforcing helmet laws and Scott Sherman literally said “Hell No” to any scooter regulations.
And they want to run the City?
It’s no secret: San Diegans want reasonable scooter regulations, including the boardwalk ban.
I don’t care how much money the scooter companies have to buy-off politicians. I don’t want their money. I don’t NEED a political career.
Tomorrow, there’s a second vote on the scooter boardwalk ban. Please, write to your councilmember now or scoot on down to City Hall at 10am tomorrow and tell them:
“I want to help clean up the mess at City hall and solve the scooter problem!”
