John–
The heartache that I survive every day never lessens; it just becomes
bearable at times.
My loving, beautiful 19-year-old daughter, Lindsay, was murdered on
December 3, 2006 by a convicted felon with easy access to guns. Her death
left an unfillable hole in my heart, a feeling that far too many Americans
know.
[ [link removed] ]Starting on February 1, join me in commemorating National Gun Violence
Survivors Week. We'll be honoring those whose lives have been taken by our
nation's gun violence crisis, along with the many Americans who have
witnessed an act of gun violence, been threatened or wounded with a gun,
or have someone we know and care about who has. Whether you're a survivor,
a volunteer, or someone new to our movement, we hope you join us in
supporting those impacted by gun violence and discussing solutions to end
this crisis.
This National Gun Violence Survivors Week, join me, survivors, and
volunteers from across the country in honoring the lives of those who have
endured our nation's gun violence crisis and have resolved to demand
action. [ [link removed] ]Find an event near you today.
At events across the country starting February 1, Moms Demand Action and
Students Demand Action volunteers will honor survivors and discuss
solutions to the gun violence crisis that affects our communities. As a
part of the 58% of American adults who have experienced gun violence or
know someone they care for who has, I am far from alone in my experience.
But it is only through this movement that we're able to work towards a
world free from gun violence.
[ [link removed] ]Join me this National Gun Violence Survivors Week in honoring survivors
of gun violence with action.
Every day, I feel the pain of the hole in my heart. Every day, I miss my
daughter. And every day, another 100 people are shot and killed in this
country, and hundreds more are wounded.
Our nation's gun violence crisis is far from over, but I know that
together, we can demand action to end it.
Sincerely,
Deborah Parker
