At 2pm, the Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee will have the opportunity to clarify and build upon the promise this body made to our firefighters and peace officers nearly three years ago.

In 2017, the Arizona Legislature intended to acknowledge the inherent danger in their jobs by passing a law identifying specific cancers that would be covered under the workers’ compensation system which could be linked back to on-the-job chemical exposure.

Unfortunately, government bureaucracy is undermining that intent by denying claims and causing costly legal battles.

My bill reaffirms the legislative protections we intended and adds ovarian and breast cancer to the list of recognized cancers.
Do you think the Arizona Legislature should add ovarian and breast cancer to the list of cancers covered?

Firefighters answer our emergency calls and protect our communities. Now it’s our turn to protect them. We made them that promise.

Sincerely,

P.S. – Please take a minute to sign my electronic petition and help me qualify for the 2020 ballot. Must live in LD15 and be a registered Republican or Independent.
