Dear John,

It was a busy week, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on how I am fighting for our conservative values.

I’d like to kick off this week’s roundup by congratulating the Warroad Boys Hockey team for making it to the championship game and also Jayson Shaugabay for being named Mr. Hockey! Keep making our district proud!

It is disappointing to hear that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) supports allowing alternative dairy products like oat and almond milk to be labeled as such. The term "milk" should only be reserved for actual milk from cows, goats, and sheep. The use of the term for non-dairy products like oat milk is misleading to consumers. That’s why I joined a group of bipartisan lawmakers in co-sponsoring the Dairy Pride Act, which would require non-dairy products made from nuts, seeds, plants, and algae to no longer be mislabeled with dairy terms.

This week, the bipartisan Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act was introduced in both the House and Senate to permanently allow for the sale of E-15 gasoline year-round. Previously, an emergency waiver was in place permitting the sale, but it has since expired. Removing this outdated market barrier will improve access to low-cost, low-emission fuel, ensuring it’s permanently available year-round nationwide. I am proud to join this bill as a co-sponsor and look forward to its passage.

As always, please contact my office if there is anything we can help with. Thank you for your continued support!

With gratitude,

Michelle Fischbach
