Five years ago, a 19-year-old shooter opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and stole the lives of 17 students and educators.

We cried. We mourned. We rallied. And in just a few weeks, we passed bipartisan legislation to raise the minimum age to buy long guns and rifles from 18 to 21.

But now, Governor Ron DeSantis and his Republican allies are working around the clock to undo the progress we fought so hard to build.
