Team,

In case you hadn’t heard: A few weeks ago, House Republicans introduced a bill that would create a 30% national sales tax while eliminating corporate income taxes and the IRS altogether. It was a clear attempt to benefit the GOP’s wealthy donors while leaving everyday Americans out to dry.

That’s why I introduced a resolution opposing the GOP’s absurd ploy and instead proposed a tax cut for the middle class and working families.

Reps. Brittany Petterson (CO) and Wiley Nickel (NC)

Here's what I think, friend: We need to lower costs for the hard-working people of IL-17, including many seniors and parents struggling to make ends meet. We need to address the deep economic inequalities in my district and around the country – not worsen them. With so many Americans struggling with the high costs of housing and everyday goods, the last thing we need is another “rich-get-richer” tax scheme.

If you’re with me, will you sign onto our petition to show your support for lower taxes on the middle class and working families?

Thank you for showing your support.

Eric
