friends: As mentioned in our previous email, the violence and instability in Haiti has threatened our ability to provide lifesaving health care. Gangs have turned cities and towns into conflict zones, with kidnapping becoming a daily, almost indiscriminate hazard. In a rare moment in our nearly 40-year history, our team has been forced to limit some activities at some clinics, transferring patients to safer facilities in our network. 

But the expert clinicians and staff at every hospital and clinic PIH supports across Haiti haven’t blinked. They are still delivering lifesaving care at great personal risk—a shining example of bravery and committed, expert mercy. 

Starting tomorrow morning, we’re launching a global fundraising campaign to provide a surge of support for these steadfast health care professionals and the people they serve.
