John,
We just wanted to bump Lucy’s email from the beginning of the month with more great news!
In the last few weeks, other drug manufacturers, including Sanofi and Novo Nordisk, have followed suit with Eli Lilly, capping monthly out-of-pocket costs at $35 for people with private insurance. (Sanofi already offers a $35 monthly cap on insulin for uninsured diabetes patients).
These three companies control 90% of the global insulin market! In other words, the legislation Lucy spearheaded the passage of in Congress has had a huge impact here on those dealing with diabetes in the USA.
This is why we sent someone like Lucy to Congress – to get big things done on behalf of Georgia and American families. If you can pitch in $35 or any amount, your support helps us keep Lucy in Congress focused on doing great work like this, instead of having to spend her time fundraising on the campaign trail.

John, I’m absolutely thrilled about the news this morning that pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly will be capping their insulin prices at $35 for people with diabetes. That’s a 70% cost reduction for the life-saving medication.
This is a huge victory in the fight to make prescription drugs more affordable. It’s also been a long time coming. I sponsored legislation in the House to do exactly this, and the Eli Lilly CEO cited my bill as the pressure to make this change.
There’s an important lesson to take away from this, John: public pressure works. Thanks in part to all of you who have signed petitions and spoken up, we’re able to show these influential corporations that the American people have had enough.
Now it’s time to turn up the heat on other pharmaceutical companies to do the same. After all, only 3 out of 10 Americans use insulin from Eli Lilly. Please sign below to demand that other insulin producers enact a $35 price cap across the board.

For far too long, millions of diabetic Americans have had to ration insulin due to its high costs. The fact of the matter is that pharmaceutical companies have been ratcheting up the price of this crucial medication despite how affordable it is to produce. I applaud Eli Lilly for leading the way with its decision to cap out-of-pocket costs.
I’m incredibly proud of the work I’ve done to lead the way on this issue. Tonight, I’ll go to bed satisfied that working folks in America will no longer have to choose between life-saving medication and putting food on the table.
I’m also reminded that although change can feel slow sometimes, when we put our heads and hearts together our grassroots movement will eventually prevail.
John, sign our petition below to demand that the other pharmaceutical giants follow the lead of Eli Lilly and cap insulin costs at $35.
