Congresswoman Tenney's Weekly Newsletter Have questions? Contact Me Here Ending Zuckerbucks & Securing our Elections As co-chair of the Election Integrity Caucus, I reintroduced the “End Zuckerbucks Act” in the 118th Congress this week. In the 2020 election, Mark Zuckerberg, under the guise of the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL)—a liberal non-profit group—flooded left-leaning county governments in Texas, Ohio, Nevada, Minnesota, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, and Pennsylvania with opaque private funding to influence election administration for their own purposes. CTCL funneled Mark Zuckerberg’s personal wealth to election agencies of his choosing without a shred of transparency or accountability. This kind of influence operation by a third party in America’s elections undermines public confidence in the democratic process. It puts private donors in charge of dictating to government agencies what should and should not be done. We cannot allow organizations like this to flout the law or continue their partisan, private funding of our elections. The Election Integrity Caucus and I will continue to lead the charge to safeguard our nation's elections and restore transparency and accountability. I am committed to continuing my compassionate advocacy for family-centered policies as I fight for pro-life, pro-family, and pro-freedom legislation in Congress. The rights of American citizens to speak their minds, raise their families and worship their faiths are among the cornerstones of our great nation, but they are under assault today in this country. I will always defend our First Amendment and protect our vitally important religious liberties. “In the first Congress to see a post-Roe nation, there is much to celebrate, especially for Members, like Rep. Claudia Tenney, who have consistently --and repeatedly--stood for life in the face of a pro-abortion mob bent on intimidating Americans into their way of thinking. She also courageously stood strong against dangerous, freedom-eroding laws like the Equality Act and (Dis)Respect for Marriage Act. Members of the House voted to protect women and girls from being forcibly drafted into combat military roles. We thank her for defending faith, family, and freedom with her votes and her voice of leadership. She has voted to reject the overhaul of our federal civil rights framework with radical gender ideology. In post-Roe America, she voted to protect the sanctity of human life for unborn babies in all 50 states. She also voted to expand protections for conscience rights, reject legislation legitimizing recreational marijuana use, and fought the Department of Justice’s view of concerned parents as ‘terrorists.’ Americans should be encouraged to know that they have so many members of Congress who, despite relentless attacks from the Left and the media, are standing strong for faith, family, and freedom,” concluded Tony Perkins, Family Research Council President. It’s Time to Defund and Leave the WHO Since the beginning of the pandemic, the WHO has proven that it does not have America's best interest at heart. Through the disguise of the WHO, millions of taxpayer dollars have bankrolled the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda and have covered up the pandemic's origins. The WHO is not reformable. I recently co-sponsored three pieces of legislation to defund and leave the WHO: First, H.R.79, the “WHO Withdrawal Act,” led by Rep. Andy Biggs (AZ-5), requires the President of the United States to remove the U.S. from the WHO and prevents taxpayer dollars from being used to fund the organization. This legislation would codify President Trump’s decision in 2020 to leave the WHO, which was reversed by President Biden. Second, H.R.343, the “No Taxpayer Funding for the World Health Organization Act,” led by Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21), would avert any assessed or voluntary contributions from the United States to the WHO. Finally, S.444, the “No WHO Pandemic Preparedness Treaty Without Senate Approval Act,” introduced in the House by Rep. Tom Tiffany (WI-7), deems any final agreement on pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response to be a treaty. Under Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution, treaties require the consent of two-thirds of the U.S. Senate. This bill will prevent the Biden Administration from circumventing the Senate and arbitrarily deeming any final treaty an “executive agreement” which does not require Senate approval. It is a privilege to join these three pieces of legislation to ensure the United States leaves this CCP-puppet agency. March 2023 Webinar: IRS Services Last week, my team of expert caseworkers hosted a webinar with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to give a best practices briefing on filing your taxes. This webinar covered new rules, dates and deadlines to look out for, and best practices when receiving help. Watch the webinar here or at the link above. Congrats to Kevin! Recently, I attended Kevin’s Eagle Court of Honor ceremony, where we celebrated his earning his Eagle Scout Rank! Kevin has earned over 50 badges beyond the 21 that are required. Congratulations! #NY24 Constituent Casework Success Story As your representative, my team and I will always be an advocate for small businesses and families across the district. Recently, a company in Jefferson County applied for the employee retention credit through the IRS and waited over a year and a half for a response from the IRS. My team of esteemed caseworkers contacted the IRS on behalf of the business and was able to ensure the funds were adequately sent in a timely manner to the business. Need Help with a Federal Agency?
