"Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it completely."
- Proverbs 28:5
Africa & Europe
Pray for peace in the Karamoja region where IJM Uganda is implementing a project to provide protection from violence against women and children (VAWC). The situation in the region, with cases of cattle rustling and violent clashes leading to hundreds of deaths, has interfered with the free movements of IJM staff and the implementation of activities to provide support to victims of VAWC. Pray for peace and stability for the people of Karamoja to be able to live their lives without fear of violence.
Latin America
Praise God for a successful first year of program implementation in Colombia. The last year had many challenges to start our work, but we are grateful to God for opening doors and good relationships with the government officials and with local communities so we can work with them to protect women and children. This week the Colombia team is meeting to strategize and plan the activities for the second year of work. Please pray for wisdom, creativity and joy.
South Asia
Please pray for a group of trafficking survivors facing challenges in their rehabilitation. These families come from a historically disadvantaged ethnic group, and they still face discrimination in many parts of their community—meaning children cannot go to school, and parents lose hope of a better life. Pray for IJM’s aftercare team strategizing on the best way to help these families thrive in freedom.
Asia Pacific
Praise God that the Indonesian court sentenced three perpetrators guilty of human trafficking for forced labor in cyber-scamming! Nine Indonesian survivors who were trafficked to Cambodia in early 2022 have received justice. Please continue to pray for these survivors as they receive the news and continue on their path of healing.
IJM Global Office & Partners
The IJM global office is located in the United States. IJM has Partner Offices in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Please pray for the current advocacy campaign in the United States. Praise God for supporters' persistence last year which led to increased funding for programs like the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons and Child Protection Compacts! Now we are calling upon Congress to ensure those key initiatives are funded again in this year’s appropriations bill. If you’d like to play a part, send a pre-written email to your legislators and urge them to support critical anti-trafficking and violence programs.
The updates we share on survivors or their cases can become sensitive over time. To respect and protect
them, please refrain from posting these prayer requests online.
