John, Ohio is definitely feeling lucky this St. Patrick's Day.
Two years ago, thanks to President Biden and Democrats in Congress, we took decisive action to bring funds flowing into Ohio and keep Americans on their feet through the pandemic. By passing the American Rescue Plan, we invested billions of dollars into building an economy that works for poor and working-class Americans.
The American Rescue Plan Delivers for Ohio:
-$5.7B to help schools and universities reopen safely
-$14.9B in direct payments to more than 6 million working families
-$100B in expanded child tax credits for more than 2 million children, lifting 132,000 children out of poverty
-$816 average savings on healthcare for more than 55,000 new recipients and thousands of Ohioans already under the ACA
-$10.9B to keep essential state and local government services running
-$587M to keep our small restaurants doors open and Ohioans employed
-$227M to keep the lights on and the heat running for low-income families
These historical investments have diffused throughout Ohio’s economy, kickstarting an unprecedented recovery. The luck of the Irish is with us this St. Patrick’s Day as we put Ohioans back to work.
