Friend, in a moment I’m hoping you will chip in $10 to my people-powered campaign. It may not seem like a lot, but if everyone reading this chips in, your $10 will make a massive difference. But first, I want you to know who I am and tell you my story:
I grew up the son of hardworking farmworkers.
In order to afford the cost of college, I walked in the desert heat to different businesses asking them to invest in our community by investing in me.
And I made a promise to those businesses I would come back to the Coachella Valley to serve our community as a physician. I can’t imagine where I would be if my family or my community didn’t have my back.
But I’m worried. National Republicans are threatening to slam the door shut on the American Dream that uplifts communities like mine.
Their plans to upend crucial student debt relief, implement a 30% national sales tax, and give handouts to the wealthy will make it near-impossible for hard working Americans to get by, much less go beyond their station in life.
This isn’t an accident, friend. It’s a policy choice.
It happens when National Republicans would rather work for high dollar donors and corporate Super PACs than their own communities. It happens when they bail out the mega-rich at the expense of hardworking people like my parents.
I’m sick of it. I’ve spent my life seeing the people of my community be left out and overlooked by people in power. And I’ve spent my career as an emergency physician and in public service fighting to change that.
But I need your help, folks. Together we can defeat the National GOP agenda that aims to shred the American Dream and our best line of defense is our grassroots team.
