During Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ recent visit to Elmhurst, IL GOP leaders were out in full force, showing their support for the popular governor who’s taken a stand against the woke culture in the sunshine state.

And DeSantis didn’t hold back, nor did he disappoint, directing many of his comments towards a shared political enemy: Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker.

“During Covid, even though your governor would lock you down, his family was in Florida.”

The speech in Illinois, which mirrors a mini United States, was seen as a latest sign that DeSantis is laying the groundwork to run for president in 2024.

Socialist Democrats led by Gov. Pritzker are striving to dominate our school board races across Illinois. Pritzker is investing millions of dollars, throwing his weight (political) around again.

In addition to being mayor, Mayor Keith Pekau is Orland Park's liquor commissioner – meaning he approves, denies or suspends liquor licenses throughout town.

And many restaurant owners, who asked Illinois Review not to reveal their identities for fear of retribution, are worried if they don’t do what he says, as liquor commissioner, Pekau could terminate their licenses – eliminating a major source of their revenue and causing them to potentially shut down altogether.

It’s no wonder why patrons of so many of village's bars and restaurants have to fight a barrage of Pekau’s campaign signs to gain access to these establishments, as no owner would want to willingly turn off half their clientele. Click to read more.
