** Lessons From Casey's Family-Centered Community Change Initiative
------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier this month, the Annie E. Casey Foundation released a report reflecting on its Family-Centered Community Change™ ([link removed]) initiative. The publication reviews Casey's investments in each of the participating communities — Buffalo, New York; Columbus, Ohio; and San Antonio, Texas — and lessons from the last seven years on two-generation approaches to ending generational poverty.

Family-Centered Community Change is a strategy devoted to improving outcomes for children and parents living in high-poverty neighborhoods. The initiative has focused on bolstering family well-being in three key areas: economic stability; parent engagement and leadership; and early child care and education.

In a new episode of CaseyCast, Foundation President and CEO Lisa Hamilton chats with Dr. David Nichols about America's record of raising healthy children.

Nichols, a respected pediatrician, is the president and CEO of the American Board of Pediatrics and a Casey Foundation trustee. Their conversation covers a wide range of topics, such as the unique challenges facing Generation Z, why the 2020 census count matters for kids and how factors like poverty, parents and race affect child well-being.
