My work in TX-31 and Congress   Howdy Texan, Welcome to a special St. Patrick's Day edition of The Verdict. I hope the luck of the Irish is with you! I had a great week working in the district and wanted to take a moment to update you! ON THE DOCKET: Burnet County Mobile Office Hours Parents Bill of Rights Supporting Military Spouses THE BRIEF: There are 2.8 million fewer people working today than before the pandemic despite nearly 11 million job openings for 5.7 million unemployed individuals. A group of at least 1,000 migrants rushed the Paso Del Norte bridge linking Mexico to El Paso, Texas attempting to gain access into the United States. Year-over-year real wage growth has been negative for 22 months. BURNET COUNTY MOBILE OFFICE HOURS One of my top priorities is providing top-notch constituent services to the people of Texas' 31st congressional district. This week, I hosted mobile office hours in Burnet County. Constituents were able to stop by and learn about the services my office offers, get assistance, and meet my team. If you need assistance with a federal agency, please visit my website. PARENTS BILL OF RIGHTS Studies show that “virtual schooling” during the pandemic caused severe learning and development loss that will take students years to make up. House Republicans are committed to recovering lost learning, ending the “Washington knows best” approach to education, empowering parents with a greater voice in their children’s education, and expanding parents’ freedom to seek out the best learning environment to prepare their children for lifelong success. House Republicans introduced the Parents Bill of Rights Act to put power back in the hands of parents and empower them with information they need to ensure their children receive the best education. Learn more. Do you believe parents should have a voice in their child’s education? Yes No SUPPORTING MILITARY SPOUSES Military spouses have a hard job, one that often means moving across the world, constantly changing circumstances, and difficulties getting hired. I’m a proud sponsor of the bipartisan Military Spouse Hiring Act, which will incentivize businesses to hire military spouses. It’s a win-win for business and America’s military families! As always, thank you for taking the time to stay updated on what's happening in Texas' 31st congressional district. Follow my Facebook and Twitter accounts for more updates. It is an honor and privilege to represent you and Texas in the United States House. Sincerely, John R. Carter Visit our website! WC Willamson County 4411 S I 35 Frontage Rd.
