I am pleased to announce the appointment of Tommy Towery to the U.S. Air Force Academy. The Mooreville High School senior has achieved excellence in the classroom and well beyond. Tommy has devoted himself to community service by establishing the Mooreville High School Event Committee to raise money for those in need. Additionally, Tommy has served on the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council, the Foreign Language Club, and the Recycling Club. He has demonstrated athletic abilities as a member of the soccer, track, and cross-country teams.
Tommy is looking forward to his next challenge as a U.S. Air Force Academy student. "Receiving a nomination and being accepted to a Service Academy are both prestigious opportunities I hope to obtain," Tommy said. "My goals in life are to be a known contributor in the advancement of aerospace engineering and exploration, serve my country, and lead and promote individuals to activate their talents and abilities to improve our world. By attending a Service Academy, I would have an unmatched education, honor my grandfather through service to my country, and reinforce my character with honor, integrity, and discipline."
Tommy is the son of John Towery and Jennifer Nichols.
