John,
Hi, it’s Jane Fonda. I’m reaching out with an important message: I recently wrote an op-ed for HuffPost.
We have been more frequently experiencing devastating natural disasters – from deadly wildfires to freezes to hurricanes and more. But the truth is there is nothing natural about them.
These tragedies are a direct result of corporate greed. The fossil fuel industry has endless resources to fill the pockets of elected officials and cover their tracks as they continue to pollute our planet. On both sides, it has always been about putting profit over people.
The recent train derailment in East Palestine, OH – which spilled a toxic chemical, vinyl chloride, into the community – is a dangerous example of how the fossil fuel industry avoids consequence. The same industry produced the toxic chemical to produce plastics, but since it’s profitable, the government looks the other way.
That’s why it’s crucial now more than ever to elect climate champions that refuse to take even a penny from the fossil fuel industry and have a proven record of climate action.
Will you make a contribution today to help us elect climate champions at every level of government and read my op-ed?
