Will you make a contribution right now to power our work and help ensure Alexandria can continue to lead during these moments?
In recent weeks, we’ve taken a necessary break from our campaign’s fundraising efforts to make space for the communities and organizations who need direct support right now:
- In February, after a freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed in the small town of East Palestine, Ohio, together our movement raised more than $15,000 for direct relief organizations in the community helping to provide assistance to families affected by the toxic train derailment.
- Then, in response to the announcement that President Biden expelled over 2,400,000 asylum seekers, we fundraised for two immigrant-rights organizations: New York Immigration Coalition and New York State Youth Leadership Council.
- Lastly, in response to the more than 375 bills targeting LGBTQ+ rights in the U.S., together we raised thousands of dollars for the Equality Federation, an advocacy accelerator focused on building power for state-based LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations.
We’re so grateful to have a community like ours when moments like these happen — people who are willing to step up, meet these moments, and provide critical support in whatever ways they can. That includes you.
We put fundraising for our campaign on the back burner during this time because we knew the strength of our movement was needed elsewhere. But now, we need your help to close the gap and hit our Q1 goal of 5,780 contributions.
As we approach the first FEC deadline of the year, will you make a $3 contribution right now to power our work and close our fundraising gap?
Contribute $3
Every contribution allows our team to not only coordinate more solidarity efforts like these, but also to fight for legislation to protect asylum seekers, strengthen safety measures for our rail system, safeguard LGBTQ+ rights, and more.
Thank you,
Team AOC
