Over the weekend, illegal migrants stormed a border patrol checkpoint near El
Paso in a brazen effort to gain entry to the United States.The mob of migrants
who stormed the border have no regard for our laws and could have succeeded in
their effort to gain entry into the United States if not for the brave men and
women of Customs and Border Patrol.

I’ve written to you in the past at length about the threat posed by the
open-border policy the Biden Administration seems to support. As a member of
Congress who grew up on the border, and who represents a border district, I’m
outraged to see that no one in the federal government (namely the Homeland
Security security) has been fired – or held accountable to any degree
whatsoever – for their inability to secure the border.

We can demand that Biden terminate individuals, like Homeland Security
Secretary Mayorkas, but only the President has the power to remove him from
office. Given that is unlikely to happen, Congress can make Mr. Mayorkas’ life
“miserable” until he finds a solution to the chaos unfolding every day at the
border. Recently, I introduced legislation in the House that would BAN the
Homeland Security secretary from flying on private planes until the border is
safe and secure.

There is no reason whatsoever that Alejandro Mayorkas should be flying private
on secure government aircraft when he can’t even ensure the safety of the
American people.

John, nearly 40 individuals on the terrorist watch list have been apprehended
at the border since Biden took office; when we have migrants overpower border
patrol agents, which will likely become more common, how can anyone in power
say that they’re doing everything they can to keep Americans safe?
