Hi folks – Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Some of you may not know that I was born in Dublin, and I've felt a special connection to Ireland throughout my life – something I have in common with so many of my constituents here in IL-06.

Out of innumerable bits of Gaelic wisdom I’ve heard over the years, I have a favorite: Giorraíonn beirt bóthar, or “two shorten the road.”

True in life, and true in politics. Walking alone on any path is hard, though sometimes necessary. But the journey is always easier with someone by your side. We go further, achieve more, and do better when we’re together.

We’ve all got beer to drink and people to see tonight, so I won’t ramble too much. But in the spirit of the day, I want to say a quick thank you for walking this (occasionally bumpy) road with me over these past few years.
