In my role as the First Vice Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, I often reflect about what that demands of me as a leader and how I can best serve the values and needs of Black and brown communities – both in Brooklyn and across the country.
I want to serve our communities by uplifting the next generation of Black leadership, not just through helping elect Black women – one of my lifelong goals and missions – but also through helping young Black leaders take the stage and advocate for the needs of our youth.
I can think of no person more ready to fight for Black and brown youth than Maxwell Frost, the first Gen Z member of Congress and another fighter for what our youth need.
I look forward to seeing many of you Tuesday evening!
