- Dispose of yard waste properly.
- Don’t dump yard waste in or near surface waters.
- Sweep extra salt from your driveway or sidewalk.
- Clean up after pets.
- Think of ways to irrigate less this summer.

Community Foundation Accepting Grant Applications
The Mendota Heights Community Foundation is now accepting applications for its first community grant, offering up to $3,000 for “The Best Idea” to enhance life in our City.
Applications must be received by May 1.

Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District Tree Sale
The Dakota SWCD Tree Sale provides the opportunity for landowners to purchase high quality bare root seedlings at a low cost for urban and rural conservation purposes, such as windbreaks, reforestation, erosion control, and food and cover for wildlife.
The trees for sale are native to Minnesota and found in Dakota County, including conifers, hardwoods, small trees, and shrubs.

Stormwater Pond Maintenance
The City is working with Barr Engineering and Veit & Company, Inc. to perform maintenance on two stormwater ponds; Rogers Lake stormwater pond, located within Rogers Lake Park, and Park Place stormwater pond, located southeast of the intersection of Park Place Drive and Farmdale Road.

Rain Barrels and Compost Bins
Mendota Heights residents can now purchase discounted rain barrels or compost bins at the annual Recycling Association of Minnesota sale.

The City’s park shelters offer a unique and affordable outdoor setting for reunions, parties, gatherings and more – rent a park shelter for your summer event today! Discounted rates are available to Mendota Heights residents, businesses and organizations.

Canoe Rack Rentals
The City owns and operates two canoe racks for rental at Roger’s Lake Park. Each canoe rack has room for six canoes. Cost for Canoe Rack Rental is $75/year.
Permit requests for use from April to November 2023 are due the first business day of April; and racks are rented on a first come, first serve basis.
