Important NHCDP Meeting Tonight
We need a quorum at our Monthly Meeting Tonight to elect two new SEC members. This is important in this presidential election year because the SEC votes to elect delegates to the Democratic National Convention, among other things. Accordingly, if you are a Precinct Chair, Precinct Vice Chair or SEC member, it is important for you to attend so we have a quorum for the vote. If you cannot attend, you can send a proxy with a written statement from you that they are authorized to vote your proxy. See time and place details below.
Get Ready for Battleground North Carolina
The 2020 election may be the biggest in our lifetimes, and no state is more important to returning honesty and common sense to governance than North Carolina. That's why the Democratic National Committee is pouring millions in campaign funds into North Carolina and five other states won by Donald Trump in 2016. "The DNC is making historic, early investments to lay the groundwork for our eventual nominee to win in 2020," DNC chairman Tom Perez (seen here) told CNN. "We are taking nothing for granted as we work to make Trump a one-term president and win up and down the ballot in 2020."
"We are the most important battleground in the nation'" said Meredith Cuomo, executive director of the North Carolina Democratic Party. "The White House, the US Senate, the Governor's mansion, and the legislature all depend on us -- that's why the Democratic Party and the NCDP are teaming up to build the biggest state party infrastructure this state has ever seen."
Candidate Forums for County Commission and 7th Congressional District
The Seventh District Congressional Party is planning a candidate forum on Monday February 3rd at the Downtown Branch of the New Hanover County Library.
NHCDP is planning a Democratic County Commission candidate forum on Tuesday February 11th at Cape Fear museum.

Get Ready for the March 3 Primary
North Carolina's election primary will be held on March 3, Super Tuesday, this year. A few things to remember:
One Stop Early Voting begins in a few short weeks, on February 13
You won't need to show a voter ID to vote in the primary.
17-year-olds who will be 18 by the November election may vote in the primary on March 3 if they register.
Dates and locations for early voting may be found here.
A sample ballot for New Hanover County is available here.
DOING (Democrats Organizing In Neighborhood Groups) Going Strong in New Hanover County
We all should be DOING something!! If you want to make a difference in 2020, consider joining the ongoing DOING effort to establish contact with as many Democratic voters as we can. People in each precinct can work together to build community and mobilize Democrats in their local area.
Here is a list of canvasses, which will be updated as new canvasses are added.
