Passengers are advised to only travel by rail if absolutely necessary and if they do travel, to expect severe disruption.

Strike action will affect other routes across the country with very limited services running on the rail network. Therefore passengers travelling are advised to check their full journey before setting off.

More strikes are scheduled for 30 March and 1 April.

Changes for passengers during Birmingham New Street platform work affecting travellers from Nottingham from 2 April

Improvements to the roof of the station mean some changes to train times and services arriving and departing from different platforms than usual.

Passengers are being given advanced notice of the alterations - particularly those travelling on CrossCountry services between the East and West Midlands.

People are advised to plan their journeys in advance by visiting www.nationalrail.co.uk.
