IT'S TIME TO MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE

Today's the day! The Great British Spring Clean is returning for its eighth year.

We wanted to get in touch to encourage everyone who supports Keep Britain Tidy to join us by making a pledge to pick up a bag of litter [[link removed]] to help us protect the places we love.

Only got five minutes on the school run or during your dog walk? No problem. Even one piece of litter removed from our natural environment makes a difference.

Already, #LitterHeroes across the country have shown their pride in their communities by pledging to pick up almost 300,000 bags, and that number is growing day by day.

New research for Keep Britain Tidy reveals that more than 8.5 million adults in the UK have done litter-picking at least once in the past six months. That’s a million more people than watched the end of the hit BBC series, Happy Valley! Are you one of them?

FAITH AND FRIENDSHIP

Hard working volunteers from the Newham Muslim Forum planned an impressive eight events across Newham mosques during last year's campaign - which coincided with Ramadan.

Around 12 organisations from across the borough joined forces to spruce up the area during the multiple events - and members are hoping to do even more this year!

Newham Council supported the volunteers with the necessary resources.

Muhammad Uddin, from the Newham Muslim Forum, said: "Last year was amazing. We want to inspire other communities across the country to do the same."

This year’s campaign is made possible thanks to media partner Clear Channel, as well as supporting partners KFC, McDonald’s, Nestlé, Mars Wrigley, Coca-Cola, Walkers and Pepsi MAX. We also thank players of People’s Postcode Lottery for raising funds to support this campaign.
