Upcoming Hearing at SANDAG re: SANDAG Exec Performance Review

Dear Jack,

I know you might be tired of hearing about the SANDAG Mileage Tax - aren't we all? However, it remains in our sight because the fight is NOT over yet.

Recently, KUSI interviewed SANDAG Chair Nora Vargas ([link removed]) , where the Supervisor said the decision had been made to remove the Mileage Tax (or, as the SANDAG Democrats like to call it, the "Road User Charge") from the regional plan. However - this is not the first time we have heard this. Back in September of 2022 ([link removed]) , SANDAG voted to eliminate the Mileage Tax from the Regional Transportation plan, yet here we are still battling over the same "charge" we were told would be removed from the regional plan. Under the lead of Supervisor Vargas and SANDAG Executive Director Hasan Ikhrata, the mileage tax still remains something to be discussed - and YOUR opportunity to voice your thoughts is TOMORROW, March 17, 2023, when the Executive Director at SANDAG, Hasan Ikhrata, will have
his performance review.

In a video announcement on social media, Supervisor Desmond explains an opportunity for constituents to voice their concerns at tomorrow's meeting:

"On Friday, the Executive Director at SANDAG, Hasan Ikhrata will have his performance review. If you're like me and feel change is necessary at SANDAG, this is your chance to weigh in. Below is all the information on how to voice your opinion:
The Executive Committee meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 17 at 8:30am and will be held in person in the SANDAG Conference Room No. 7. The agenda item is #7.
While Executive Committee members will attend in person, members of the public will have the option of participating either in person or virtually. SANDAG's headquarters are located at 401 B Street, #800, San Diego CA 92101.
