Hello friends!
It’s me, Kat. You’re used to seeing newsletters from me in a different format but I thought I’d shake things up a bit. I wanted to start a Substack to use some of the new features to help our conversations evolve. And evolve they shall, because it’s already time to start thinking about 2024!
I know, the elections never stop in this country. It’s dizzying and somewhat exhausting. But also exhilarating- every election is a new opportunity to change our communities for the better.

For us, election season starts early. Along with getting IDs, which is long, tough work, we put a lot of work into voter education and turnout which takes quite a bit of time. We register 92% of our eligible clients all throughout the year so when elections come around we put a lot of work into getting those folks and their communities to the polls. That’s how we move them from 0- 40% average turnout!
I’ll be talking over the next few weeks about what we’re doing for 2024, starting with a big announcement: We’re launching in three new states!!
OHIO KENTUCKY MISSOURI
We’re moving up from 17 to 20 states now to start working towards next November. Why these states? We have gotten requests from all of them for many years and we know there is huge need for ID help in each state. Over 940,000 Ohioans do not have ID! Missouri claim has 278,000 just registered voters without ID! Kentucky just reenfranchised 100,000 returning citizens, many many of whom need IDs!
We are so lucky to already have partners in these states and I will be talking about each state and our new partners soon. We can’t wait to start getting IDs in our new states!
