John,
It’s Steve Kerr. I’m reaching out because our movement just scored a huge win: President Biden announced the executive actions he is taking to expand background checks, prevent gun violence, and save lives.
After countless tragedies, I’ve found myself asking “when are we going to do something?” – and I know you have too. Yesterday, Biden gave us his answer: “Now.”

The president unveiled a package of executive orders that are proven to address gun violence, including the expansion of the Brady Background Check System to be close to universal. The administration will also work to increase awareness about extreme risk laws, address dangerous gun industry marketing tactics, and increase federal support for gun violence victims and survivors and their families

As an NBA champion coach, I know what goes into a huge win: It takes dedication, focus, and determination. It means not letting losses set you back and supporting your team. And what my players embody on the court, the Brady team embodies in their tireless work every single day.
|
The president’s action is a direct result of the Brady team’s countless hours of work over years, and with still more progress to be made, I know they’ll remain steadfast in their commitment to addressing our nation’s gun violence epidemic. Will you donate today and help Brady continue this lifesaving fight?

As a gun violence survivor, I believe in Brady and the survivors who lead it. They’re the ‘coach’ our team needs to keep winning this fight. Brady will keep pushing Biden and the rest of our lawmakers to take the lifesaving action that is necessary to change our country – like banning assault weapons.
Brady created our background check system nearly 30 years ago and has been fighting to improve it to meet the demands of a changing world ever since – and we just witnessed Biden take action to do exactly that. This shows us the power we have when we all work together as a team. I need every single one of us to dig in deep in this moment, because we’re still up against our biggest rivals: The gun lobby and their pocket politicians trying to stop lifesaving progress. But if we’re dedicated, focused, and determined, I know that we can win.
That’s why I’m reaching out today. I’m personally asking you, as a fierce Brady supporter, to take action alongside President Biden, Brady, and myself to keep propelling this movement forward. Please, can you donate today to help save lives and end this gun violence epidemic?

Thank you, John. With our team working hard, I know we can keep saving lives.
