NOT EASY
It’s Hard As Hell Being The Oldest Sibling

It’s time we give the oldest kids of the family some major props (and I’m not just saying that because I am the oldest child in my family). Samm Davidson writes: “Recently, I had to sit my 9-year-old down at the kitchen counter for a little chat about attitude and respect.” After she said her piece, she gave him the floor: “‘It’s not actually easy, Mom,’ he said with tears in his eyes, ‘being the big brother to three younger siblings. And I don’t feel like I get enough attention, and I am frustrated.’”

First of all, three cheers for his level of emotional self-awareness, which surpasses many grownups. Read and find out how Samm is grappling with this moment.
