John, this is great news: President Biden just announced an executive order with a series of actions aimed at curbing gun violence.

I know how important this issue is, so I want to take a moment to explain exactly what these new actions will do:

* Expand background checks for gun purchases as much as we can without passing legislation through Congress
* Encourage gun owners to use proper and safe storage
* Raise awareness about so-called "red flag" laws to empower law enforcement agencies to keep guns away from dangerous people and abusers
* Strengthen the gun violence reforms that Congress passed last year
* Empower us to hold gun manufacturers accountable for their role in the gun violence epidemic

President Biden's bold leadership will make all of our communities safer. And after the more than horrific 100 shootings we've already seen in 2023, I'm relieved that we're taking this step forward.

But the gun lobby and far-right extremists are already attacking President Biden and this new set of reforms. I need Democrats to stand with my friend Joe so that we can weather these attacks and build momentum to pass more gun violence prevention legislation. That's why I'm asking 500 of my top supporters to respond to this poll before 11:59 p.m. tonight. Please, will you submit your response now?

Do you support President Biden's executive order?

Thank you in advance for making your voice heard here. I really appreciate it.
