John, I admit it, I was surprised when he said “Politics is
f*@ked,” out loud.
But it’s completely true.
Whether it’s the unfolding banking crisis, the poisonous clouds over East
Palestine, OH, our kids’ education, our parents’ healthcare, or any other
issue you care about, our corrupt system is at the root of the problem and
fixing it is the solution.
I recently had the incredible opportunity to get on stage with actor and
pro-democracy superstar Ed Helms to deliver a keynote address on how we
got here and what we can do about it. It’s funny and entertaining, but
provocative and impassioned.
[ [link removed] ]Will you watch my keynote address and share it? We need as many people
as possible to understand the problem and join the movement to help with
the solution.
[ [link removed] ]Ed Helms: Politics is pretty f$*ked
[ [link removed] ]I got on that stage to ask all of America — conservatives and
progressives alike — to be part of our winning strategy and join our
winning movement. Please help me reach them.
Our political system is dysfunctional. Politicians spend all of their time
fundraising. Lobbyists and special interests game the system to advance
their agendas. The two-party duopoly breeds gridlock and extremism.
You know it and you’re already part of the solution. Our more than 170
anti-corruption wins for Team Democracy prove it. City by city, state by
state we're chipping away at the root cause of this dysfunction.
We know *you* get it. What we really need is for our neighbors and friends
to get it, too. We need to reach a tipping point where this change goes
from improbable to inevitable.
That's why I need you to share our hopeful message. [ [link removed] ]Watch and share
this video from my talk with Ed Helms where we break down what we can do
right now to fight corruption and fix our broken political system.
This is a fight that we can win. It may take years, decades, or even
generations, but our democracy is too valuable to let slide. But I fight
this fight every day because I believe that we can build a movement
powerful enough to fix so much of what’s broken.
A systemic problem needs a systemic solution – you can be a part of it,
and I’m so grateful for all you do.
