Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the following appointments to the Michigan Board of Barber Examiners, Michigan Citizen-Community Emergency Response Coordinating Council, Early Childhood Investment Corporation Executive Committee, Electronic Recording Commission, Michigan Board of Massage Therapy, Michigan Board of Respiratory Care, Michigan Tree Fruit Commission, and Utility Consumer Participation Board.? ? Michigan Board of Barber Examiners? ? Ms. Lorin Cumberbatch, of Lansing, is an esthetician and owner of Skin Studio 211. She received her general associates and nursing assistant certification from Lansing Community College. She is appointed to represent the general public, for a term commencing March 16, 2023, and expiring September 30, 2025. She succeeds Micaela Reardon whose term has expired.?? ? The Michigan Board of Barber Examiners was created to regulate the services of barbers, barber students, barber colleges, barber instructors, student instructors, and barbershops in Michigan. The statute defines a barber as a person who shaves or trims the beard of a person; cuts, trims, shampoos, relaxes, curls, permanently waves, dresses, tints, bleaches, colors, arranges, or styles the hair of a person; massages the face and head of a person; or renders personal services of a similar nature customarily done by a barber.? ? Aimee Barajas, of Lansing, is a 9-1-1 telecommunicator for Ingham County 9-1-1. She has been with Ingham County 9-1-1 for six years where she has worked with the special events team managing dispatching for Michigan State University events and large rallies in the region. Recently she was the voice heard by thousands of Michiganders the night of the tragic mass shooting on MSU?s campus and has been recognized for her professionalism and situational management in a time of crisis. Ms. Barajas is appointed to represent individuals with technical expertise related to emergency response, for a term commencing March 16, 2023 and expiring December 31, 2026. She succeeds Michael Bradley, who has resigned.? ? Theresa Metzmaker, of Lansing, has over a decade of experience working with the disability community and is currently the executive director of the Michigan Disability Rights Coalition. Ms. Metzmaker also oversees the Michigan Assistive Technology Program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University. Ms. Metzmaker is appointed to represent individuals with technical expertise related to emergency response, for a term commencing March 16, 2023 and expiring December 31, 2026. She succeeds Daryl Green who has resigned.? ? Mr. Robert A. Seeley, of White Lake, is the chief of emergency management at Oakland County and is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Michigan Air National Guard. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Lake Superior State. Mr. Seeley is appointed to represent individuals with technical expertise related to emergency response, for a term commencing March 16, 2023 and expiring December 31, 2026. Chioke Borgelt-Mose, of Detroit, is the director of improving practices and outcomes for the Corporation for a Skilled Workforce. Ms. Borgelt-Mose is also the president of the Michigan Stanford Alumni Association, a board member at the Detroit Continuum of Care, and a Management Advisory Board Member at the Wayne State University School of Business. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in African and African-American Studies from Stanford University. Ms. Borgelt-Mose is appointed for a term commencing March 16, 2023 and expiring July 22, 2026. The Early Childhood Investment Corporation was created to be the state's focal point for information and investment in early childhood education in Michigan so that children can arrive at the kindergarten door, safe, healthy, and eager for learning and life.
