Dear MoveOn member,

Do you want to see Fox News's Tucker Carlson—who spent last week telling
Americans that the January 6 white supremacist insurrectionists were
"orderly and meek … sightseers"—lose his top ratings and millions of
viewers?^1 We have just the way to do it.

We want to put up these three billboards outside Mar-a-Lago to help drive
a wedge between Tucker, whose audience loves Trump, and Trump, who you
know has the thinnest of skin:

"I HATE [TRUMP] PASSIONATELY."
–Tucker Carlson, Jan. 4, 2021^2

"THERE REALLY ISN'T AN UPSIDE TO TRUMP."
–Tucker Carlson, Jan. 4, 2021^3

"WHAT [TRUMP'S] GOOD AT IS DESTROYING THINGS. HE'S THE UNDISPUTED WORLD
CHAMPION OF THAT."
–Tucker Carlson, Nov. 6, 2020^4

The quotes are texts from Tucker that were released last week as part of
an unprecedented $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit brought against Fox News
for its coordinated campaign of lies after the 2020 election.

Here's where MoveOn comes in. The helipad Trump used to use to travel to
and from Mar-a-Lago was removed after he left office, meaning that every
time Trump leaves the isolation of his shielded estate, he must now take a
public highway to get to the airport.^5

That's where we want to put up the billboards. You can see it now: Trump
will grow furious each time he drives by, lash out at Tucker, and tell his
supporters to stop watching Tucker and Fox News, which is of course
defending Tucker. Rinse and repeat.

Want to see this happen? Of course! We all do. But MoveOn's fundraising
numbers are down, and billboards are expensive, which means we can put
them up only if we raise enough by the end of the weekend.

[ [link removed] ]Will you donate $3 now to help enable us to put up
billboards outside Mar-a-Lago, drive a wedge between Trump and Tucker
Carlson and Fox News, and hurt Trump's access to free propaganda?

Let's be clear: We aren't doing this simply because it will be fun to see
Trump's reaction (it will) or fun to see all the media attention these
billboards will undoubtedly receive in Florida (that too) or fun to see
Republicans in Florida demand they be taken down (that will be the best!).

If there's one thing we know about Trump from decades of petty squabbles,
it's that he holds a grudge. His fragile ego cannot stand embarrassment.
And the people who flock to Mar-a-Lago are some of the ones for whose
benefit he cares the most about keeping up his charade.

So let's help Trump and Tucker permanently part ways by making Fox's
disdain for Trump visible to Trump's community in Mar-a-Lago.

[ [link removed] ]John, please rush a $3 [ [link removed] ]donation—or
whatever you can afford—to help enable us to put up billboards exposing
Tucker Carlson's disdain for Trump outside Mar-a-Lago.

Trump is on the precipice of some massive challenges. His reelection
campaign launch flopped, and he's failed to freeze out other challengers
for the GOP presidential nomination.^6 Legal experts expect he will soon
be indicted under felony charges in Manhattan—potentially the first of a
cascade of criminal and civil charges that could come in quick
succession.^7,8

At this challenging moment, Trump could use his propaganda machine—the Fox
media empire—more than ever. But Fox appears to be giving Trump the cold
shoulder, and these private exchanges only deepen the rift.

If we can continue to drive the wedge between Trump and Fox, it might deal
a critical setback to his authoritarian dream of regaining the White
House. This is an important opportunity in our ongoing commitment to make
sure that does not happen ever again.

[ [link removed] ]At this critical moment, please make a gift of $3 [ [link removed] ]to
help us be able to put up billboards outside Mar-a-Lago, get under Trump's
skin, and cause him to lash out at Tucker and Fox News—over and over
again.

Thanks for all you do.

–David, Anne, Chloe, Thad, and the rest of the team

Want to support MoveOn's work? Voters just defied history and stopped a
MAGA wave of extremism at the polls. But there is more work to do to end
the filibuster, codify abortion rights into law, and defend our freedoms,
our families, and our futures. We can accomplish all this and more, but
only if we work together.

Will you chip in right now to power our critical work?
