Hi,

Walgreens announced it will stop selling abortion medication in certain states — all because MAGA extremist Attorneys General scared the mega-corporation with a lawsuit. It is shameful that Walgreens would simply bow to pressure from anti-abortion Republicans.

Meanwhile in Texas, a Trump-appointed judge may soon ban the critical abortion medication mifepristone.1 President Biden must use his executive authority to protect abortion rights against MAGA extremists in the courts and in state and local governments.

Sign the petition: Tell President Biden to take executive action to protecting easy, safe access to abortion care in America — including protecting access to abortion medication.

Following the news from Walgreens, Senator Elizabeth Warren called on the corporation to resist MAGA extremism and urged other pharmacies not to make this same mistake.2 That’s after she and Senator Mazie Hirono led a letter to the White House asking President Biden to take eleven actions to protect abortion rights — including protecting access to medication abortion.3

After the extreme right-wing Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, MAGA governors like Ron DeSantis and conservative state legislatures are pushing it further and targeting further restrictions like banning abortion medication.

Medication abortion care is a safe, effective, non-invasive option for ending an early pregnancy.4 It’s critical to make medication abortion available as widely as possible, especially after the Supreme Court’s anti-abortion decision.

The White House must meet active attacks from Republicans like DeSantis and use the President’s executive authority to protect the rights to safe, accessible abortion care.

Sign the petition to President Biden: Protect medication abortion before MAGA extremists and mega-corporations roll back abortion rights even further.

Thanks for taking action,

Tihi and the team at Demand Progress
