Hey John -
The columnists, pundits and Twittersphere have spoken: Mayor Pete broke through a crowded 10-person debate stage and was a standout last night.
My favorite moment from the debate was his remarks on structural democratic reforms to improve our democracy. You can WATCH those powerful remarks and support our Victory for Pete efforts here. >> [[link removed]]
In it he says: "This is a country that once changed its constitution so you couldn't drink and then changed it back because we changed our minds. And you're telling me we can't reform our democracy in our time?"

I wasn't alone in my accolades for the mayor of South Bend. Frank Bruni, columnist for The New York Times , had this to say about Pete’s performance:
“…I was impressed by Pete Buttigieg. I’m always impressed by him. How does a person become this articulate, this informed and this poised by the age of 37? It’s like his parents read him the Encyclopedia Britannica instead of ‘Goodnight, Moon’ and regularly injected him with some analogue of human growth hormone that supersizes developing brains.”
To celebrate Mayor Pete’s big night, will you contribute $15, $25 or $35 to our Victory for Pete efforts? [[link removed]] No matter who your choice is for president, it is vital we have an LGBTQ voice on the debate stage.
I appreciate your support,
Mayor Annise Parker
