Today we honor the memories of the eight people who tragically lost their lives in Atlanta.
The Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community has had to endure senseless hate and violence these past few years.
The AAPI community is just as American as any other community, and we once again renew our calls to combat anti-Asian hate.
We are thankful that the Biden administration has been an ally in our fight and has worked to enact the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act and empower the Justice Department to deter and confront hate crimes.
And we echo President Biden’s call to enact more common sense gun safety laws, in order to prevent mass shootings like the ones that impacted our AAPI communities in Monterey Park and Half Moon Bay.
The safety and security of our community remain a top priority.
We must honor the victims of the Atlanta shooting and all those who have faced anti-AAPI hate and commit to fighting bigotry wherever and whenever we see it.

ASPIRE is fighting to do just that: elect more Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) to office.
We need all the help we can get to empower our communities and elect more diverse candidates.
