50 New Monthly Donors Needed To Unlock $5,000

Giving Challenge Deadline: Midnight Tonight

The Common Loon’s rich yodeling and moaning calls, heard by day or night, are characteristic sounds of early summer in the north woods. But like two-thirds of North American birds, this icon of the wild is at increasing risk of extinction due to the climate crisis. Birds are telling us it’s time to act. They’re already suffering from planetary warming—effects that will only intensify unless we change course.
That’s why, as we approach World Water Day, we are asking for your support while a special Giving Challenge amplifies your power to help. Thanks to a group of generous donors, when you start your monthly gift today, you’ll help unlock an additional $5,000! But please hurry—we urgently need 50 bird lovers to join us before midnight. The climate crisis means less safe, clean water for birds
Human activities have deprived birds like the Common Loon of the clean water they depend on.
Maine and Minnesota could see loons vanish by the end of the century.
We’ve already lost 3 billion birds in the span of a human lifetime.
The water crisis we now find ourselves in provides sobering proof that climate change is not a distant danger, but one that’s already profoundly affecting birds and the places they need. Fortunately, Audubon’s advocacy for birds is powerful and effective as we keep sustainable water management at the forefront of our work. With support from people like you, we are leading the way to ensure clean water and watery habitats for birds like the Common Loon, Black Tern, and Eared Grebe. We're driving effective action across our unrivaled nationwide network by advocating for sound policy, preserving important habitats, and advancing climate action.
We have the power to turn the tide for birds—but we can’t do it without you. Ahead of World Water Day, will you please join in these efforts and be part of all we do to protect birds everywhere we work? We’re counting on 50 caring friends to start a monthly gift during our Giving Challenge to help unlock $5,000 more for the birds we love. ([link removed])
