That’s why it’s critical to hear back
Dear Friend,
Spring is in the air - can you feel it? It brings new life and hope. It also triggers drastic changes in weather. One day, it’s bitterly cold, and the next day…flooding rains and heavy winds. For struggling and isolated seniors, many without a roof over their heads, these conditions become deadly.
After record flooding in her town forced her from her home, Marion had nowhere to go. At age 72, and already pressed for income, she found herself homeless and hungry. “I ran out of money,” she remembers. “I couldn’t even buy food. I would have a banana for every 2 or 3 days.”
Too many people, especially seniors like Marion, are suffering across the country, with no one to care for them and nowhere to turn when the unexpected hits - storms, economic crisis, illness or injury.
That is why we've set a goal to welcome 50 new monthly donors by Monday, March 20, the first day of spring, so we can be ready to help anyone who knocks on our door.
Will you join us, Friend, and start a monthly gift today?
After finding one of our local Volunteers of America centers, Marion received emergency relief from her unlivable conditions, allowing her to get the support she needed to plan for the future.
You have a special opportunity today to transform hardship into hope for someone like Marion. As little as 33 cents a day, or $10 a month, guarantees food, shelter and comfort to struggling seniors, families and veterans this spring and every season of the year.
You’ve shown such compassion for those in our care with your past support. I hope we can count on you for a monthly gift now - to change a life, like Marion’s, forever.
Gratefully, Mike King, President & CEO Volunteers of America
P.S. Monthly giving is easy. You’re always in control of your giving, and it’s a great way to extend your impact further than ever!
