The Biden Administration is required to open this issue to a 30-day public comment period. Now, only 11 days remain for all of us to make our voices heard.

President Biden’s proposed asylum ban is a terrible misstep that will hurt countless individuals and families, leaving people seeking asylum with virtually no legal pathways to reach the U.S. safely, and forcing them to make dangerous choices — including crossing between ports of entry — that will only bring about more tragedy and chaos. Moreover, the last decade makes clear that whether or not it’s an asylum ban or jailing families, for those whose goal it is to make life so hard they will not even try to seek asylum in the U.S., this will not work.
If implemented, the Biden Administration’s proposed asylum ban would almost certainly continue for decades to come.
We must all speak out to REJECT any policy that disqualifies individuals and families fleeing persecution from seeking safety in the U.S. — especially when doing so, it may be their last and only hope.
