Fewers pulling ambulance out of Cape Broyle by summer, future coverage still undecided

After weeks of demanding answers from the provincial government about spotty ambulance coverage, the residents of the Cape Broyle area finally have some news.
Health Minister Tom Osborne said recently the company operating Ferryland Emergency Service in Cape Broyle is pulling out of the region altogether, and gave a six-month notice to the provincial government two and a half months ago.

Local taxpayers funding ambulance calls in Ottawa

Paramedics in Leeds Grenville answered 2,571 ambulance calls from the city of Ottawa between 2018 and 2022, costing local taxpayers almost a million dollars. A year-end report from the Leeds Grenville Paramedic Service showed that since 2018, local ambulances responded to 2,571 calls for help in Ottawa, while Ottawa ambulances answered just 297 calls in Leeds Grenville.

Edmonton Oilers Mega 50-50 supports first responders

The next Oilers Mega 50-50 will support Alberta’s front-line first responders. The raffle, which runs until 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, is a collaboration between Wounded Warriors Canada, Operation Frontline Impact and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF).
