‌Since day one in Congress, one of my top priorities has always been to remain accountable to my constituents. I am proud to continue my commitment: In 2019, I held a town hall in every county in our district, and I plan to do the same thing again in 2020.As we go forward into another battle for Upstate New York, I want you to know that I will be in this fight for YOU every step of the way. A lot has already happened in 2020, and there's so much at stake this year, so please, I hope you’ll take a moment to read my update on a few important issues that I've been working on for our community. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Friends,

Earlier this week, I stopped by the North Utica Senior Citizens Center to host an Older Americans Town Hall, where we discussed issues from lowering prescription drug costs to protecting Medicare and Social Security.

I also visited Broome County and held town halls with residents at Broome West Senior Center and Maine-Endwell Middle School to learn more about issues important to them. One of my favorite topics that came up was our ongoing fight to save minor league baseball in Upstate New York. (Go Rumble Ponies!)

In Congress, I’ve been working to solve problems and get things done for Upstate New Yorkers. We recently passed the Protecting Older Workers Against Discrimination Act to ensure older Americans are not discriminated against for their age and can continue to make important contributions to our workplaces and communities.

As we make meaningful progress on these issues and tackle others like improving drinking water quality and honoring veterans who put their lives on the line for our freedoms, I am counting on you to bring our people-powered campaign across the finish line in November so we can continue our important work.

Thank you for being with me as we fight for the people.
