John, GLSEN was born from a spark—an idea—an action.

That spark became the first GSA, an alliance of understanding, support, and safety between a teacher and a student who felt different and targeted.

GLSEN’s legacy and our power comes from our work to kindle that spark in LGBTQ+ young people and ignite the strength and passion of youth activists.

Our work is also fueled by a special group of supporters, GLSEN's Dean’s List. Dedicated on-going support from Dean’s List monthly donors is critical in our fight to improve education for another generation of future leaders.

The spark that brings each one of us together in support of young people in our most vulnerable communities will ignite positive change in learning environments across our country.

Each of you have your own reason or spark for joining this fight, but I know that every one of us is deeply committed to empowering young people, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.

Your Dean’s List gift will make a tremendous difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ students.
