Republicans are trying to reverse our progress on equality and inclusion in public education.

Just last year, Youngkin’s education plan excluded several crucial lessons about the history of racism in our country and the culture of black and brown people. The policy also removed LGBTQ history from the curriculum. This past September, Youngkin enacted a policy forcing transgender and gender non-conforming students to use the restroom of their gender assigned at birth.

The GOP wants to rewrite history and put their radical theories and beliefs in our children’s textbooks. They’re trying to invalidate our students' identity, stripping away their sense of security and wellbeing. We cannot let this happen.
