Did you see this, John?
Yesterday, during a floor debate over a bill to provide meals for all Minnesota students, state MN GOP Senator Steve Drazkowski said he has “yet to meet a person in Minnesota that is hungry.”
Drazkowski went on to mock the idea of children struggling with hunger in general, claiming that hunger is a “relative term” and saying “I had a cereal bar for breakfast, I guess I’m hungry now.” Watch here: secure.actblue.com/donate/em230315dfl_2?refcode=button&amount=25
When Drazkowski says he has never met a hungry Minnesotan he is either lying or he is deliberately ignoring the families in his district and across the state that are struggling.
The truth is there were 5.5 million visits to Minnesota food pantries in 2022, and 1 in 6 students currently experiences food insecurity. In Drazkowski’s own district, it’s 1 in 5 students.
John, our DFL leaders are fighting back against irresponsible and ignorant GOP legislators everyday. Your grassroots contribution ensures they have the strength to do so. Will you chip in any amount right now?
Thank you,
Minnesota DFL
