John,
$150 billion over 10 years to expand Home and Community Based Services so older people and people with disabilities can live in their communities with the help of care workers.
$600 billion over a decade to expand affordable child care for 16 million children.
Expanded health coverage for uninsured poor adults in states that have refused to expand their Medicaid programs.
200,000 additional rental vouchers, including a commitment to provide vouchers to every young person aging out of foster care, plus investments in building more affordable housing.
A commitment to protect SNAP (food stamps) from cuts and expand eligibility for people returning from incarceration, poor college students and other vulnerable people.
Those are just some of the items in President Biden’s proposed FY2024 budget, which he released last week.

TAKE ACTION
These investments are critical to support strong, healthy families and communities where we can all thrive. Not only is President Biden proposing these essential investments, but his budget would also reduce the federal deficit by $3 trillion over ten years by making the wealthy and corporations pay more of their fair share.
Unlike right-wing members of Congress who will do anything to avoid increasing taxes on their millionaire and billionaire donors -- even if that means inflicting painful, draconian cuts on programs for education, housing, health care, and nutrition support -- President Biden’s budget shows what is possible with a shared prosperity approach.
Too many families have been left devastated by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the record inflation that followed. This budget will not only help get families and communities back on track, it will help them get ahead.
Send a direct message to Congress today, urging them to pass President Biden’s budget and invest in critical human needs programs.
Thank you for all you do,

-- DEBORAH'S EMAIL --
John,
President Joe Biden released his 2024 budget proposal with a clear focus on creating a more equitable economic system by increasing taxes on the ultra-wealthy and corporations, and increasing investments that help all of us, including the most vulnerable communities, families, and children. This is the responsible vision that can move us forward and leave no one behind.
President Biden’s budget ensures that all of us share in the prosperity of our nation. Send a direct message to Congress telling them to pass President Biden’s FY2024 budget with investments to human needs programs intact.
SIGN & SEND
Not only does the Biden budget invest in working families and vulnerable communities, it also reduces the federal deficit by $3 trillion over the next decade. It does this through the basic fairness of requiring the richest among us to pay taxes, through its 25% Billionaire Minimum Income Tax, increased stock buyback tax, taxing investment income at the same rate as income from work, and raising the corporate tax rate from 21% to 28% (which is still lower than it was before the Trump tax cuts for the rich and corporations).
The United States is the wealthiest country in the world. We can afford to invest in our future by increasing taxes on the rich and corporations, who have evaded their fair share for far too long.
For the right-wing, the federal deficit is a convenient excuse to deny vulnerable people health care, housing, food, and education. They are attempting to slash critical programs while making the 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent, which would increase the deficit, overwhelmingly benefiting the rich. They want us to believe that threatening catastrophic default, failing to meet needs and emptying our treasury through endless millionaire tax cuts are responsible acts. We have to say NO. The Biden budget shows how to invest in our future responsibly.
Click here to send a message to Congress urging them to put the most vulnerable in our society ahead of wealthy campaign donors.
President Biden’s budget proposal includes restoring the expanded Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit — which reduced child poverty by almost half before it was allowed to expire. No child should live in poverty in the richest nation on Earth.
Thank you for all you do to support human needs programs,
