John – There’s no limit to the depravity of the GOP.
As if things aren’t bad enough in Ohio under one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the nation, the GOP is going even further.
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has led a charge of Republican Attorneys General threatening pharmacies who are preparing to carry medicated abortion pills according to new FDA guidelines. Yost and his cronies have pressured Walgreens, one of the nation’s largest pharmacies, into withholding medicated abortion pills in certain states.
John, the GOP’s radical anti-abortion policies are a threat to public health. Medicated abortion is a safe and widely used method for terminating a pregnancy during the first trimester. In Ohio last year, more than half of all abortions provided used medication. Allowing retail pharmacies to dispense the drug in stores and through the mail under new FDA guidelines expands healthcare choices to millions of Americans. Now, Yost and the GOP want to strip women of this critical healthcare tool, and leave them with little to no access to safe abortion care.
We can’t remain silent. Will you sign our petition demanding Congress protect abortion rights on a federal level to keep Attorney General Yost and the GOP off our healthcare? We cannot allow the GOP to continue their assault on women's healthcare. It is time for Congress to take a stand.
