When I’m at town halls, forums, and events throughout the district, I tell people that what I’m about to tell them might be uncomfortable to hear.

I’m not a career politician. I’m a first-term member of Congress who was elected to do what is right, not what is politically expedient or safe. Which is why I’ve been a leading voice in Congress about the urgency of the climate crisis and the need to safeguard our elections from foreign interference.

It’s why I took a stand to call for the beginning of an impeachment inquiry against Trump and called for universal background checks on firearm sales. It’s why I’m taking on Big Pharma and standing up to the NRA.

And it’s why The National Republican Congressional Committee is going up with ads targeting me now that I have a Republican challenger.

If you’re with me in the tough fights ahead, then I’m humbly asking if you’ll make a donation ahead of our FEC deadline which is just two days away. We can’t afford to fall short when National Republicans are going on the offensive against us.

I believe in being fully transparent with my constituents. I understand that my position in Congress comes with a responsibility to not only my community and my state, but to my country and our democracy.

Doing what’s right isn’t always easy. But that doesn’t mean you shirk that responsibility. It means you buckle down and get to work.
