Friend,

Live in a rural area of the country and rely on the mail for important
services?

Louis DeJoy says you’re out of luck.

Trump's postmaster general recently met with several U.S. senators to
discuss the lack of service to remote areas, and DeJoy blamed lack of
staff and infrastructure -- staff and infrastructure he was responsible
for dismantling.(1)

DeJoy’s 10-year plan to destroy the USPS in order to privatize it is
working, and only grassroots pressure can stop him. Courage California and
our coalition of advocacy groups are demanding that the USPS Board of
Governors reverse course on DeJoy’s plan.

During the Trump administration, the White House released a recommendation
that the USPS be privatized. There was a public uproar that made Trump
back off the plan in the media.(2)

But Trump then installed Louis DeJoy, who has steadily worked toward
making a public USPS unsustainable.

In the years since, we’ve seen one of our most treasured institutions fall
apart. Mail has slowed and become unreliable, post offices have closed
entirely, and prices have gone through the roof but the agency is still
underfunded.

DeJoy hopes that eventually the public will be so fed up that we agree to
make the agency private. We won’t let that happen.

DeJoy may be the boss, but he answers to the USPS Board of Governors. And
that Board answers to the public. We’ve seen victories in this space
before, when the Board of Governors oversaw new USPS electric vehicle
contracts after huge public pressure, and now the Board is mostly Biden
appointees.(3) We can win this fight.

demanding they protect a public postal service?
