TODAY: Far-right anti-abortion groups have asked a Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge in Texas to reverse federal approval of the pill mifepristone, which is used for medication abortion. The hearing is happening TODAY.

The scariest part about this? The judge is attempting to make this dangerous ruling in secret — and hopes that the American people won’t notice.

According to The New York Times, “Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk, of the Northern District in Texas, told lawyers in the case on Friday that he was scheduling the hearing for Wednesday morning. However, he asked them not to disclose that information and said he would not enter it into the public court record until late Tuesday evening.”

Far-right anti-abortion groups have asked a Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge in Texas to reverse federal approval of the pill mifepristone which is used for medication abortion. We expect the ruling to come down any day now.

According to NBC News, “More than half of the women who terminate their pregnancies in the U.S. do so via medication abortion.”

Without the federal protections of Roe v. Wade, this ruling could have a devastating impact on access to effective abortions and miscarriage management – and will even limit healthcare access in places like New York where abortions are still legal.

These rulings are dangerous and do not consider the real-life circumstances that make these pills so necessary. The people (mostly men) making decisions about OUR BODIES are prioritizing their own religious beliefs over the health and safety of women across America.
